RESUME / ÖNDER AYDIN – Painter
He graduated from the Gazi Institute of Education in 1979 majoring in Art Teaching. Later he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree. He worked as an art teacher for many years. He painted children’s books. He is currently a member of the Association of Plastic Arts (PSD), the Ankara Contemporary Arts Foundation (CAGSAV) and a founding member of the Art Again Group.
His works have been exhibited in national and international art festivals. He has contributed to various notable international workshops in order to build a Statue and Art Museum. So many interviews and critics on his art works and on his understanding of art were published on various TV and radio programs, as well as in many books, art magazines, encyclopedic dictionaries, catalogues, press and internet media.
He was a member of the selection committee for many national art competitions such as the State Art and Statue Competitions, the Sefik Bursalı National Art Competition, and the Mustafa Ayaz Museum Art Competition (1st, 2nd and 3rd).
The time concept disappears in Önder Aydin’s paintings. He often makes references to the past in the history. Anatolian Civilizations are the inspiration of his art. He believes that Anatolian civilizations spanning over 12 millennia are the starting point and fingerprint of Turkish art. He has a fantastic and contemporary realistic way of expression close to surrealism. He has held 24 personal exhibitions and his artworks have been exhibited in approximately 500 notable national and international group exhibitions.
His paintings are now part of some major collections such as the Ankara State Art and Statue Museum, the Ministry of Culture, Ankara Governor’s Office, Ordu Governor’s Office, Kastamonu Governor’s Office, Gazi University, Konya Selçuk University Art and Statue Museum, Çorum City Hall, Eskişehir Tepebaşı City Hall, many banks and private collections owned by various individuals and corporations such as Sanko Holding, as well as of some private collections in Russia, United States and France.
He was also the chairman of the board of directors of the United Painters and Sculptors Association for six years between 2006 and 2012. He currently continues his works in his own art studio in Ankara.
